Stuff!
The world revolves around one thing, stuff! Many things are in this never-ending category. Money, shoes, clothes, jewelry. Our world, as Christians, should revolve around the one who died for us, Jesus Christ. The Bible is clear that stuff doesn’t last, no matter how much stuff you have. It doesn’t matter if you have all the latest fashions hanging in your closet, if you have the newest phone, or the newest iPod, all that will fade.
Don’t get me wrong I am not asking you to wear old rags and look down on iPods and phones. The thing itself is not what can block you from God. I love my iPod and phone! It is letting that thing become an idol in your life and only focusing on that instead of God. That is what can distance you from God.
The world thinks that being rich is having a lot of money and being successful. The Lord however, thinks of rich as being rich in Him and in the Word. Philippians 4:19 says “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Jesus always provides our needs, not always our wants, but sometimes He blesses us with those too.
The way to be rich is to have a heart close to God because everything else will fade.

This is a great post, Coco, and one that was very timely for me to read. I guess this is a struggle we never quite grow out of!
