I encourage him to go to men’s things at church. Our guys need male friendship and mentoring. He’s told me what a blessing it is to know that I’m happy to let him go to men’s bible study or men’s breakfast instead of resenting that time away.

My husband and I sneak into each other’s phones and change our contact names so when we call each other the I.D. says some endearing phrase like “A1 Lover” or “A Hot Woman”. It is just a fun way to flirt.

What about ways to bless a male friend? Not being married, yet having friendships with men, I wonder how to appropriately bless/encourage them.
I definitely like the racy text message! That one’s funny, because before we’re married, Christians try so hard NOT to think about sex and talk about sex. Too often that follows into our marriage. But you’re LEGAL now! You should! And it keeps your marriage fun and fresh!

Woah, I’m going to link this for my wife to read. All kidding aside, I’ve been blessed with a really great wife who does many of these things.
Right now my wife is pregnant and completely exhausted. I’m quite fine with being in charge of more while she gets ready to have our second child. I think some advice for a wife in this situation would be helpful as well – how to support your husband when you are pregnant and tired.

Marriage is so much harder when we don’t subscribe to blessing our mates. It’s human indeed to get all caught up in the custodial duties of being alive–and yet, I believe, that is where many of us sign our own marriage’s death warrants.
